He is a graduate of The Interdenominational Theological Center, Atlanta GA, with a Masters of Divinity, Psychology of Religion, Pastoral Care and Counseling and a graduate of Bethune-Cookman College, Daytona Beach, FL with a Bachelor of Arts in Religion/Philosophy. At the I.T.C. Elwood was a member of the Homiletics Club and the Turner Theological Seminary Fellowship, an organization where he served as Chaplain. He has also demonstrated academic prowess, maintaining honor’s status throughout his seminary matriculation. Elwood was elevated to the office of Pastor in September 2005 by Bishop McKinley Young and on December 2005 he was appointed to Greater St. Paul A.M.E. Church, Boynton Beach, FL “The Boynton Beach Blessing!” He served that congregation faithfully for 3 years. He is now the proud Pastor of New Mt. Zion AME Church, Tallahassee, FL. He shares his life in ministry with his wife Lady Shawana Alicia Elwood. Pastor Elwood is also a proud member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.
